Twenty two months ago, I started on an intense journey to pursue my doctorate. Yesterday, I successfully defended my dissertation on the impacts of race and gender on Asian American women senior leaders in U.S. higher education. My unbelievable superstar chair, Sharon M. Ravitch, Ph.D. supported me with unwavering affirmations and love. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Dr J. Matt Hartley and Lei Ping rounded out my all-star committee. Jen Murphy, Ed.D. thank you for constant championing and sharing so much! Mary Watson, PhD, Shondrika Merritt, Ed.D, Xenia Markowitt for moving your lives to be at my defense. It meant the world to me! This journey was harder than all my years training at the Olympic Training Center having started a new job six months ago while mothering two teenagers. I am grateful to New York University for the unbelievable support in my journey. The biggest shoutout goes to the amazing women who were a part of my study.
